Taghazout Surf Day

Taghazout is a small fishing village roughly 20 km north of Agadir that has become one of Morocco's best-known surf destinations. Its coastline mixes famous right-hand point breaks, such as Anchor Point, with gentler beaches where beginners can learn. A surf day here is as much about the relaxed village atmosphere as it is about the waves.

What to expect

Beginners usually start with a short safety talk on the sand, practise standing up, then head into small whitewater waves. Experienced surfers will want the right spot for the day's swell and tide. Because conditions change daily, the exact beach is decided on the day according to the ocean, not fixed in advance.

Where it is

Taghazout lies on the coast road north of Agadir, past Aourir and Tamraght. The surrounding coastline has a string of named surf spots within a short drive of each other.

Questions

I have never surfed. Is this for me?

Yes — let us know you are a complete beginner and we will suggest a lesson on a gentle beach rather than a reef or point.

Do I need my own equipment?

No. Boards and wetsuits can usually be arranged; please mention your height and shoe size in your email.
