Sunset Camel Ride

Few things feel more holiday-like than swaying along the Atlantic shore on a camel while the sky turns orange. Camel rides are a familiar sight on the beaches around Agadir, and the late afternoon is the favourite time: the heat fades, the light softens and the waves glow. It is gentle, photogenic and suitable for most ages.

What to expect

After a short introduction to your camel and its handler, you climb on while the animal is kneeling — the moment it stands up is always the funniest part. The ride follows the sand at a walking pace with stops for photos. Sunset time changes through the year, so the start time is set according to the season.

Where it is

Camel rides take place on beaches in and around Agadir. The exact beach depends on the season and arrangements; we will confirm it by email.

Questions

Is a camel ride safe for children?

Generally yes, with an adult and a handler leading the camel. Very young children may prefer to ride in front of a parent.

What if the weather is cloudy?

The ride still goes ahead in normal conditions — the sunset just looks different. In strong wind or rain we will suggest another time.
