After departing from Agadir, travelers on this 3-day desert tour to Merzouga Desert will visit Taroudant, Ait Ben Haddou, and Ouarzazate, as well as the Kasbahs located between these three spots and the Merzouga Desert, you will spend a night in the desert camp
Day 1 : Agadir – Taroudant – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades
We will depart from Agadir for a 3-day desert tour to Merzouga. Along the way, we will stop in Taroudant city to enjoy the old ramparts. We will also visit Taliouine, known for producing saffron, and Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest and oldest Kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will then head to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”, which has been the backdrop to many Hollywood blockbusters and historical TV programs. We will spend the night in a traditional Riad/hotel in Dades
After breakfast at the hotel/riad, we will depart from Dades and drive to our ultimate stop of the day, which is Merzouga. Near the town of Tinghir, we will go to Todra Gorges and take a walk across the narrow canyons. After lunch at the gorges, we will head towards Erfoud driving by Tinjdad. We will stop there to check the fossils and we will continue after that to Merzouga. At Merzouga, we will leave our vehicle behind and ride the camels towards the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Before the sunset, we will climb a high dune to see the wonderful view. Then, we will head to the Erg Chebbi camp where we will spend the first night of our 3 days Desert tour from Agadir to Merzouga desert in a nomadic tent surrounded by a band of musicians.
After enjoying the beautiful sunrise views in the morning and having breakfast, we will return to the hotel in Merzouga village. From there, we will explore the palm plantation areas of Tafilalet. Our next stop will be Rissani, which is considered the holy land of the Moroccan Royal Family. On the way, we will visit several villages and Kasbahs, including Tazarine, N’kob, and Agdz where we will have a traditional lunch. Finally, we will head towards Agadir passing through the villages of Taznakhet and Taliouine. This marks the end of our 3-day desert tour from Agadir to Merzouga desert.
